Research paper on media/politics?

what is a good topic that is fairly narrow that I could research and for which I could write an 8-12 pg. paper that concerns the media in some way and how they tie into politics? I can't tackle a huge problem like bias in general, but something more specific that I can yze. Some people are doing how media covered weapons of m destruction, someone else is comparing media treatment of palin and hilary clinton. I was thinking of how hurricane katrina was covered by press or how about the matt lauer interview with bush? is there a trend with how presidents out of office are more grounded? or maybe how about how bush doesn't point finger at Obama whereas Obama does just the opposite? Are any of these trends for which I could research and write a decent length paper on? thanks
