Question about Christopher Columbus and Columbus Day?

Columbus has taken a great deal of the blame for the extermination of the indigenous population of the Americas, whereas most of it was due to the unwitting introduction of Euro-Asian diseases to which Indians had no immunity, having been separated for millenia from the other continents.
