I don't wear tight shoes will I still get bunions?

It seems that bunions run in my family.However, I have always been careful to avoid wearing tight shoes as I love my pretty,small feet and do not want to have unsightly bunions.So far so good, my feet look normal.Lately I have noticed a tiny bump on each side of my feet that is accompanied by slight pain.Does that mean I will get bunions regardless of the precautions I have taken? I am told bunions are hereditary, I just thought if I took care of my feet that I wouldn't have them.Am I wrong, or will I need to face the inevitable?
