How different is the culture in the UK compared to the US? What are some differences/similarities?

I'm traveling to Leeds, England to study abroad, and I'm from Minnesota and I was wondering what to expect from interacting with people there and how it compares to here in the US. I'm not worried about culture shock, but I'm curious to see how different or similar people are there.
